Carbon fibre fabric

The Pathos Supreme carbon blades are made of 285-T2 pure carbon fibre. This special fabric has proven to be the number once choice for the Pathos blades. This is due to the combination of high resistance and instant reaction. The carbon fibre is combined with high quality epoxy resin. this provides reliability, stiffness and a longer life.

The style of carbon weaving removes any wrinkling, cracking and distortion of the blade and ensures complete resin soaking. It also provides rapid recall and extra flexibility.

Process

Every pair of Pathos Supreme carbon blades fins are processed thermally for 36 hours and cures at 8 tons of pressure for 24 hours. The unique process provides the blades with a gloss surface. This minimises water friction and creates a more reactive performance. The whole manufacturing process reduces carbon fabric and epoxy resin disposal.

Water rails

The Pathos Supreme carbon blades ensure high performance during deep dives due to the side water rails. The elastic spoilers operate as guides which create a water channel. This prevents the fins to drift on the sides and requires a lot less energy.

Flap-shaped edge

Hours upon hours of extreme testing has proven that the flap-shaped edge of the Pathos Supreme carbon blade exceeds the diver’s efforts. It also adds an extra push at the end of the leg movement. This feature allows the diver to use less power when compared to previous concave shaped models.

S-Curve

The Pathos Supreme carbon blade diverts the power created by the movement of the diver all along the blade length. The success of this is down to the carbon fabric’s internal arrangement. The special internal design allows the blades to take the pressure of a double curved S-shape and provides the best flexibility, efficiency and functionality.

33 degree angle

The Pathos Supreme carbon fin achieves its high performance by increasing the angle of the blade. The 33 degree angle suits the experienced diver and is extremely comfortable. The diver will feel comfortable swimming long distances and at free-fall planning in deep dives. The combination of the Pathos Supreme carbon blade and the famous Pathos footpocket achieves amazing results.

Pathos footpockets

The main focus behind the design of the famous Pathos footpocket is to provide amazing comfort and great stability – and at the lowest weight possible.

The pure latex is vulcanised in a Pathos factory in Greece using specially designed rubber injection machines. To keep things environmentally friendly Pathos only uses A class recycled and recyclable materials.

The Pathos footpocket is made with three different mixtures of pure latex –

• Soft on both the toes and the heel
• Medium on the side nerves – allowing the blade to move freely
• Hard on the metatarsals and bottom of foot – for stability

Each Pathos footpocket passes through numerous checks and rigorous testing before stocking and shipping to the entire world.

The carbon blade is easy to install with the footpocket and requires very little effort. Just a few drops of superglue are all that’s needed and a steady hand.
